    » ?Wide Angle? Lenses

Hi All, So I have a Olympus EVOLT 512 -- that uses Olympuses 3/4s (or is it 4/3?) system. And my lowest lens goes from 10mm, which I guess is effectively a focal length of 20 or 30 mm? A lot of times, even standing back, I still want to capture more in the photograph. What kind of lens can I buy that would give me good pictures with more of what I see? Any recommendations? Ideally I'd like something I could get used / off ebay for a few hundred... Thanks, DanI know that Olympus make a 7-14, but it may be expensive. Google it.Will I see that much of a difference between 7 and 10mm?I think you will. Keep in mind that although 3mm may not sound like a lot if you're talking about standard of telephoto lengths, but in wide terms, even 1m...... - 2010-02-07

» So, YOU REALLY WANNA LEARN JAPANESE?

gYoufve eaten at a few Japanese restaurants, seen some anime, hosted an exchange student, and had a Japanese girlfriend. And now, somewhere in the back of your tiny brain, you think that Japanese would be a good language to learn. Hey, you could translate video games! Or Manga! Or even Anime! Pick up Japanese girls, impress your friends! Maybe youfll even go to Japan and become an anime artist! Yeah! Sounds like a great idea! Read on... http://japansugoi.com/wordpress/so-you-want-to-learn-japanese/Are all those true? Have I been struggling in vain all this time trying to learn Japanese? » First Page release date poll

With a bit of updated news from the Evrsoft team we are all on tenderhooks again waiting With that a new poll has to be started. What is the expected release date for the beta or gold version - comment welcome as well!I voted for the latest date possible and probably for the same reason others did. I would rather be pleasantly surprised by an early, bug-free release than get my hopes dashed by having a proposed release date come and go with no new program.I'm an optimist ! Even after all these years :rolleyes:omg omg omg! did you see the front page!? - 1st Page 2007 in post production. Bug fix/QA rollout. » Help with programs display

I just upgraded to XBMC 2.0.1 and I'm trying to figure out how to get my Programs section to look the way it did in the old version of XBMC. Right now it's showing just the games (no applications or emulators) and a big back arrow in the first spot. I can get to the other stuff by clicking on that arrow, but what I'd like is for all the games, apps and emulators to appear in the same window. And I'd like that arrow to disappear if possible. Also I'm using XBMC as my dashboard. Is there anyway to make it so that XBMC won't appear as an option under programs? The arrow is in the settings, appearance, view options, hide parent folder items. For getting everything in one place, go to programs. It should open in the games directory by defa...... - 2010-02-07

http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=... Scroll down to the mid of the page on the link, and look at their line-up. Johan Santana barely lost the NL MVP this year. Carlos Zambrano, didn't he and some pitcher from the BoSox are the only to get No-Hitters last season. Francisco Rodriguez just broke the record for most saves in a season. Felix Hernandez is a fresh, young pitcher who barely anyone knows. Magglio Ordenez, Juan Rivera, and Bobby Abreu will tear the outfield with speed. Amazing veteran Victor Martinez at catcher. Dioner Navvaro is the backup and could play Pinch Hitter. Miguel Cabrera, Jose Guillen, Omar Vizquel, Jose Lopez, and Melvin Mora won't let a single error go past them. » Palliative care, what does it mean?

i have a friend in hospital who is in palliative care.Does it mean they cant heal her and that she is going to die?It sort of depends on how that particular institution defines "palliative care." most people assume that palliative care means the same thing as "hospice." hospice is a program that promotes quality of life while knowing that someone is terminal (they will die from their disease). in order to qualify for hospice, a person is no longer receiving in active curative or life-prolonging treatment, e.g., chemo. Palliative care also promotes quality of life (improved pain control, nausea, constipation.. basically improved side effect management from either the disease or the treatment). However, a person can still be receiving acti...... - 2010-02-07

While, with the growth of US deficits, the need for foreign investors for financing it grows, US creditworthiness is rapidly deteriorating. The ratio of total US debt to GDP from 163 % in 1980 became 240% in 1990 and jumped to 346% in 2007.It is enormously aggravated with the dramatic developments of 2007-2008, including the addition to the public debt of $6 trillion liabilities of Fannie and Freddie and the $700 billion of the Paulson Plan. There are things that can be done prior to infection. The first would be behavior modification. This will be especially important with my little ones. They will have to learn to never touch their eyes, noses or mouths without washing their hands. There is ample evidence that most influenza infections are caused by moving the virus from a hard surface, onto our hands, then into our eyes, noses or mouths. I am considering making masks for all of us to wear. Not to stop the virus but rather to remind us to not touch our faces without cleaning our grubby hands first. I'm moving to a new place in a couple of days and the whole house is filled with 2 prong polarized outlets. I took off the cover and there isn't a grounding wire back in the box. Low and behold it lit up which i'm assuming that means it can be grounded. So my question is do i just replace the 2 prong with a 3 prong and it will be automatically grounded or do i have to do anything special? Mainly from Christians, also from atheists, sometimes from Muslims and Hindus. But from the many answers from the Jewish community I rarely see anything but polite and unjudgemental answers. None fo this "you are wrong and I am right". If I make an incorrect assumption about their faith I always get a polite correction. I also feel they have a lot of resect for other religious thought. What's happening is that XP home is reaching the 5 session limit and locking out. It isn't to do with media files not closing as I don't actually have to stream for this to happen. Because I'm a bio major, all of my classes are going to be huge (my chem class right now has more than 800 students in it), 2. I can't take any arts classes (which I would really like to do), 3. I do talk baby talk to him not even thinking about it. Telling him how pretty he is. He wiggles around and comes close to the glass and flares real pretty. He will do this until I walk away. He will come to the top of the water if I talk to him. Maybe he is just wanting me to leave him alone. What do you think? Just curious......it,s funny you ask that, when i go to feed mine,i have one that reminds me of a puppy wagging it,s tail,it just wiggles but doesn,t flair,i think it knows i feed it.do you mean he is puffing his gills up? if so then that means a challenge. its what male bettas do when they come close to another bettaBettas can't understand English, so he just thinks that you're another enemy and flares at the glass. ...... - 2010-02-07

    » D200 and Auto WB?

I've got a D80 and a D200. The Auto White-Balance is great on the D80, although the D200's Auto WB leaves much to be desired. Basically I have to change the WB manually on the D200. With incandescent light i have to change it manually, if i keep it on auto the greens go blue, it's too warm.. etc.. I've updated to all the most recent firmware versions, too. Anyone else experienced the poor Auto WB on the D200, a problem with the camera?.. it's not a great big deal as i always shoot in RAW and i can always manually adjust WB but it's a feature that saves time, leaving more time for shooting.I've noticed the same thing on my D300 - I'm rarely happy with the results of the auto-WB, however like you, I always shoot RAW, and generally shoot ...... - 2010-02-07

» Are racing slicks road legal?

if i were to put say goodyear eagle racing slicks on a car would they be legal on the highway?they must be DOT approved which i doubt they are. what car you putting them on? and why do you need slicks on the highway?Probably not--most states (or all) require a certain tread depth on tires to be legal, and if I understand "slicks", there's no tread depth at all. Plus, they wouldn't be very safe on wet roads.Only if there DOT approved. If they are DOT approved they are marked on the sidewall and usually have a couple groves or a minimum amount of tread or some way to guage wear. If they don't have the DOT markings you cannot run them on the street.......mdthey do make racing slicks that are D.O.T approved you just need t...... - 2010-02-07

    » Help.... My eyes

I'm looking for a new forum for www.msweb.nl (http://www.msweb.nl), a website that is visited a lot by people with a disability, like some vision impairment and lessened motor skills. I'm one of them, and my problems are: 1) Though I am able to read the message texts in this very forum, the navigation, the search, the posting rules are hardly readable, and the buttons to navigate between the different pages of a topic are really too small to hit the right one without trying twice ore more... 2) I really cannot read the manual for more than ten minutes before I get a splitting head ache , because of the tiny font size. So I reckon my clients will encounter problem number 1, if I would install vB, in the improbable case that I ...... - 2010-02-07

Yes. there is the other kind of DE as well, but that one can kill not only bed bugs, but humans as well. So be careful. There are some companies that sell DE in the economical bottles. BedBugPowder.com is one of them and DE should be contained. We have used it and we are still alive (ha ha!!) It worked really well on our bed. Ask them if their powder contains DE, I bet it does.... but i am not 100 % sure, so... good luck!!contact a local exterminator. Say for instance if you were not sure which train to use to get there. douyade is what I am intrested in, she said it literaly ment how and was a complete word. But I'm fairly sure the de at the end is the particle for by, so what does douya literally meen. Would it be "how by toukyou to go"? 2) Anata no shashin wa totte ii desu ka. Do this for a period of five weeks or so and something should happen. Why five weeks? It's just an arbitrary number that doesn't necessarily have to make any sense...Don't straight out invade his personal space.. For instance Hertz has a system called NeverLost, which is in a lot of their rented vehicles, what company provides this GPS service and do they keep all data or do they just rent the data or have access to it from a larger company, that maybe owns the satellites? I would ask her, "Excuse me, what would you like me to call you?" or "What did you say you'd like me to call you?" :)I'm going to be a nurse practitioner so I would be happy to answer this question. » How does mitosis ensure the distribution of the genetic code to new cells?

and why is accurate duplication of chromosomes important?Mitosis is initiated by the activation of a trigger called M-CKD (mitosis cyclin dependent kinase) the M-CDK is kept in check by Anaphase promoting complex or APC. The APC deactivates the M-CDK and forces the cell to telophase. So by checkpoints in the cells the distribution of the genetic code to new cells is monitored. If this was not the case it's possible to have an extra chromosome in a daughter cell that would continue to proliferate resulting in disorders and detrimental concequences....... - 2010-02-07

What method(s) were used for verification? When were they authenticated? Have further tests been done since? Or was the date in the woven cartouche at one end of the carpet used as the only proof? In my experience, this is usually done by people who know about the styles of the time/place in question. Of course, carbon dating is possible. It would be accurate to within a few years. » Do rural drivers drive more than urban drivers?

Most fatal crashes occur on rural highways. One possible reason is that rural drivers drive more than urban drivers and are thus more exposed to the chance of accidents. Rural drivers may also engage more in dangerous driving behaviors, such as drinking and driving, driving without seatbelts, and speeding. I am interested finding some research results that address distance driven as an explanation for the higher incidence of fatal crashes on rural highways.
