Header style with graphic

  • I'm trying to develop a report template that incorporates a page header ONLY on a page where a new heading 1 style is used. To complicate things more I also want to include a graphic file in the header which is "overprinted" with a text box containing the heading text.

I'm struggling to work out where to start! Can someone help me please?

    Thanks

    Craig

  • Craig, Could you provide more info, i cannot visualise what you are trying to do?

  • I'll try!!

I want the Heading 1 style to always start on a new page (a no brainer). But I also want the Heading 1 style to have a graphic associated with it. For the sake of simplicity, imagine a filled rectangular box in, say, jpg format that has the variable heading text overprinted on it. (In this particular case, I have a relatively complex multi coloured graphic theme that has a space reserved for text).

Finally - I would like to present Heading 1 in the page header - but only on that page. This would mean that a multi-page chapter would have two headers - one for the first page and a default header for subsequent pages.

The catch with this is that I want to distribute this template to a moderate number of people who don't have particularly strong MS Word skills - so the less manual intervention required the better!

I hope that this explains my issue a little better. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

    Cheers

    Craig
