Theists, are atheists in this section to convince themselves there is no god?
Wouldn't the lack of any credible, tangible, verifiable, irrefutable, concrete evidence to support the existence that there is a deity be enough to "convince" us atheists to stay atheists?
Or is this person implying we're here to "convince" ourselves that, yes (indeed!), the Religion and Spirituality section of yahoo answer equally lacks of any sufficient evidence and we just need to "remind" ourselves of this everyday all the while asking the theists tough questions such as these?
Another user said: "Modern science doesn't believe in an eternal universe"
Modern science DOES reveal to us that matter & energy are eternal. All of this may not have always existed in this exact order, but matter & energy THEMSELVES have always existed in one form or another.
Thiests are convinced there is a God and are trying to point out the ignorance in not beliving in one. Athiests are convinced their is no God and are trying to point out the ignorance in believing in one.
Of course, there ARE a couple people here that are just asking and answering questions for the sake of knowledge, but they're the minority.
I do not thing you can sell that one to anyone with a 60 IQ or better.
Jewelery sales mite suite you, better.
Have a nice day.
Athiests have never been able to present a "tough" question that I have heard. The mere existance of the universe proves the existance of God.
The laws of thermodynamics make it clear that something can't just come into being from absolute nothing with absolutely no cause. Yet you athiests think the universe created itself. Modern science doesn't believe in an eternal universe so don't even go there, that has been debunked.
